PLEASE NOTE: When the MTA signs a contract with the MTA host hotel, the MTA commits to booking a certain number of rooms. The rooms generate revenue for the hotel, which allows us to receive complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary meeting space for our caucus meetings, concessions such as office space for the MTA and NBI meetings, discounts on our caucus coffee/breakfast, and AV equipment.

Delegates who make alternative housing arrangements and do not stay at the host hotel put MTA at risk of losing our contracted concessions and paying penalties for under-booking. This will make it more expensive to hold our caucus meetings and hurt our negotiating power with future hotels.

Hotel Booking Instructions

• Use this customized booking link to reserve your room.
• When booking a room for multiple people, please indicate the name of your roommate(s) during the hotel reservation process.
• Hotel reservations must be made by June 5, 2025 (to secure the discounted rate).
• The MTA group rate is $239 per night, per room, for rooms with 1 king bed; $259 for rooms with 2 queen beds.
• The room rate does NOT include state and local taxes (17%).
• These discounted rates are available for MTA delegates five days before and five days after NEA RA dates, pending availability (for the range of June 27, 2025 - July 11, 2025).
• If you wish to cancel your room, please do so 48 hours prior to scheduled check-in to avoid cancellation penalties.

Payment

Upon making your reservation online

• When making the reservation by credit card, the hotel will request a credit card number, but the hotel will not charge the card at the time of reservation.
• When making the reservation by debit card, the hotel will charge one room night’s deposit.

Upon Arriving at the hotel

• When you check in to the hotel, the hotel will take your method of payment and authorize that credit card for the full cost of your stay. IF you intend to split your room cost between multiple credit cards, you will need all of those credit cards (and their owners present) at the time of check-in.
• Personal checks will not be accepted unless they are received at least one week prior to arrival. Checks should be mailed to:

• Checks should identify the delegate or delegates being covered by the payment.
• If you are a Local Treasurer and plan to prepay for a number of delegates’ rooms, please contact Heather Gordon at heather.gordon@thenines.com for the credit card authorization form.

Incidentals  

• The hotel requires guests to pay incidental charges of $100 for the entire stay at check-in and replenish the account back to the $100 level should it fall below $50.

Hotels amenities

• Complimentary wireless internet in guestrooms (and throughout meeting space).
• Complimentary access to the Fitness Center.

Please note that the MTA has opted out of the $30 per night Destination Amenity Fee for our attendees, so other concessions may be listed on the hotel website that do not apply to our group.

Mini bar

Every hotel room has a mini bar. Guests will not be able to use the mini bar as a refrigerator. Placing additional items in the mini bar will set off the sensors and add charges to your bill. If you would like to have your mini bar emptied so that you can instead use it as a refrigerator, you will be charged a fee of $60 plus a 25% service fee per room.

Corrections to hotel's booking site

The Nines Hotel booking site references two fees that are not applicable for the MTA delegation (specifically under “room details”):

• There is no fee for Wi-Fi.
• There is no $85 Fee.
